He has written frequently for the Guardian from the Iranian capital Tehran, since October 2006 and has been the The Guardian correspondent in Iran during June and July 2009. He is a trilingual journalist writing in Persian, English and French for a number of different newspapers around the world, including The Guardian, Le Monde and Etemaad. He was one of the few journalist covering the Iranian turmoil after Iranian presidential election, 2009 for foreign media including The Guardian, CNN, CBC, France 24, channel 4 and the GRN despite all threats from the government and the big possibility that he might have been arrested.
